About the Mission:

The family of Earl J. Speirs has requested Patriot Guard Riders to attend his Military Honors funeral. Mr. Speirs served in the US Air Force from October 1962 to October 1967 as an aircraft pilot for the 31st Military Airlift Squadron. He attained the rank of Captain while on active duty. When he was discharged from active duty, he served in the Air Force Reserves attaining the rank of Major. While in the Reserves he was hired to fly for Pan Am Airways in 1967. He proudly flew for them until they went under in 1991. Afterwards, he flew with Tower Air and transported soldiers in and out of combat zones during Desert Storm in the First Gulf War. He was awarded these medals/ribbons: National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Small Arms Expert Ribbon.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

We will stand a flag line for arrival of family and friends for the funeral service at the funeral home. Following the service, we will stand for the dignified transfer, then provide an escort to the Wallkill Cemetery for Military Honors.
