About the Mission:

The family of Charles B. Secore has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Charles, a lifelong Beacon resident, recent years of Wappingers Falls, passed away on May 27, 2024 at the Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh at the age of 94.

Born in Beacon, NY, Charles proudly served in the United States Army, enlisting on 7 October 1954. He was trained as a Military Policeman (MOS 951.10) and served honorably until his discharge on 12 September 1956, including 1 year and 6 months assigned to the 537th Military Police Company in Mannheim, Germany. He was discharged at the rank of Specialist 3rd Class, and for his service was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal - Germany.

Charles worked for many years in manufacturing as a pressman at the Nabisco Plant in Beacon, and later was a foreman at the Federal Paper Board until he retired. He also worked in law enforcement, part-time for the Village of Fishkill Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office as a deputy.

Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line during Visitation hours between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm. There will be a prayer service at 12:00 pm, followed by a dignified transfer and escort to Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 US 9, Fishkill, NY 12524, for interment with military honors.
