About the Mission:

The organizers of the 7th Annual Upstate NY Wounded Vet Run have once again asked Patriot Guard Riders to lead this year's ride.

SFC Jacob Pratt, a Rensselaer County native, is this year's honoree. Sergeant Pratt was assigned to Detachment 2, Company A, of the 1st Battalion, 224th Aviation Regiment. The 21-Soldier detachment was mobilized in October 2023 for federal duty supporting the Border Patrol as part of Joint Task Force North. On March 8th, 2024 while flying a mission on the US border in Texas, the UH-72 Lakota helicopter crashed, leaving Sergeant Pratt as the sole survivor. Our deepest condolences to the families of his team members, Chief Warrant Officer 2 Casey Frankoski, Chief Warrant Officer 2 John Grassia III and Border Patrol agent Chris Luna.
