About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to stand and honor a group of local Purple Heart recipients as they embark on a one day tour of notable Hudson Valley landmarks.

Sponsored by Leatherstocking Honor Flight Veterans Initiative, these heroes will first be treated to breakfast at the Joseph E. Zaloga American Legion Post #1520, then embark on a tour that will include a visit to Washington's Headquarters in Newburgh, the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor in New Windsor, a scenic boat tour of the Hudson River and a tour of West Point Military Academy, including dinner at the Thayer Hotel/Restaurant before returning to Albany.

Let's have a good PGR show of support for these brave veterans as they embark on their journey.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Staging at the American Legion Post with a flag line as the veterans board the bus and depart.
