About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to participate in the military honors funeral services of Theodore Szczepaniak. Theodore, 79, passed on 22 November 2023.

Not much is known about Theodore's life and military service, however we do know that he was born in Northeim, Germany, and entered the United States Army during the Vietnam War on 19 March 1965. He served stateside as a Military Policeman (MOS 95B20) until his honorable discharge at the rank of Specialist 4th Class on 17 March 1967. For his service, Theodore was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and a Marksman Badge (Rifle and Pistol).

Theodore passed in November of 2023, and his remains have been held at St. Peters Hospital since that time. He has no surviving family members, so Patriot Guard Riders will fill that role at his funeral services.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line located inside the viewing area during the one hour visitation period from 10:00 - 11:00 am.  A funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, and any PGR members who wish to attend are invited to do so. Escort to Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Central Avenue, Albany, will follow, with interment with military honors.
