About the Mission:  The family of David R. Packard has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in a Memorial Service being conducted in his honor.  David, 73, passed on January 21, 2022 without the benefit of military honors.

Born in Albany, David graduated from high school and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served for two years before his honorable discharge. He was a dedicated law enforcement officer, who received numerous commendations while serving as a Special Investigator with the City of Albany Police Department and locally as a Lieutenant with the Schoharie County Sheriff’s Department before retiring.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:  Actual mission location is a private residence on County Route 10 in Middleburgh, a 26 mile ride through the scenic Helderbergs from the staging location. Please join me in honoring this hero.
