About the Mission:

The family of Zenas S. "Peanut" Dickinson has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Zenas, 77 of South Glens Falls, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2024.

Born in Belcher, NY, Zenas left school at the age of 17 and enlisted in the United States Army on 20 November 1963.  He was trained as a Petroleum Storage Specialist (MOS 56C20) and served until 18 November 1966, including almost 1 year in Vietnam.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of private First Class (E-3), and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device and Expert Badge (M-14 Rifle).

Zenas had great community pride, serving in several fire departments over the years including South Queensbury Volunteer Fire Department, South Glens Falls Fire Company, where he served as the Fire Police Captain, Edinburg Fire Volunteer Fire Company, and Moreau Emergency Corp.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

We will stand flag line for the arrival of family and friends until the memorial service at 11:30 am.  After service and dignified transfer, we will escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1:30 pm service.
