About the Mission:
The family of William F. "Bill" Looney has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Bill, 77, passed unexpectedly on Sunday, April 14, 2024.
Born in Albany, NY, Bill entered the United States Army on 3 November 1967, and was trained as an Engineer Missile Equipment Specialist (MOS 62C30). He spent a total of 1 year and 10 months on active duty, including 13 months overseas assigned to Headquarters, 4th Battalion, 44th Artillery, Eighth Army at Camp Humphreys, South Korea. He was honorably discharged on 2 September 1969 at the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4), and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and Expert Badge (M-14 Rifle).
Bill was an electrician with IBEW 236/724 for over thirty years, retiring in 2003. He was an avid coin collector, a New York Jets fan and was known for enjoying time outside in his clubhouse.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the last 30 minutes of visitation, 12:30 am - 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm, followed by a dignified transfer and escort to Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave, Colonie, NY 12205, for interment with military honors.
