About the Mission:
The family of Robert Burton Mosher has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Robert, 82, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022, at home with his loved ones by his side.
Born in Glens Falls, NY, Robert first enlisted in the military as a United States Marine on 26 February 1957. He served for 2 years as a Rifleman (MOS 0311) and was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class (E-2) on 2 March 1959. He re-enlisted in the US Army on 25 January 1960 and served as a General Supply Specialist (MOS 768.20) for 15 months, including almost 6 months on overseas duty assigned to the 32nd Signal Battalion in Europe. Robert was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4) on 22 May 1961. He re-enlisted the following day, 23 May 1961 and served as a Signal Supply & Parts Specialist (MOS 76G40). He served for 6 years, including a tour of duty of 2 years and 7 months in Darmstadt, Germany. Robert was honorably discharged on 22 May 1967 at the rank of Staff Sergeant (E-6) and for his service, was awarded the US Army Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He re-enlisted once again on 23 May 1967, and served one year and 10 months as a Communications Electronics Repair Parts Specialist (MOS 76U40). His duty included 13 months overseas assigned to the US Army of the Pacific. Robert was honorably discharged on 2 April 1969 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. He went on to serve in the New York Army National Guard from 8 July 1973 until his retirement on 31 December 1989.
Robert worked at various jobs over the years; bus driver for Saratoga Springs Central School District, Guyson, Hill & Markes, E.M. Stone, up until his retirement, which he enjoyed. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycling, camping, mowing for himself & others, tinkering in his yard & collecting bottles & cans.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. The funeral service begins at 1:30 pm, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with military honors at 2:30 pm.

Interment with military honors scheduled for 2:30 pm.
Note that there is a new staging protocol for Saratoga National Cemetery. PGR members will stage by parking ONLY on the right side of the roadway near Section 21. If that area is full, the overflow parking area will be on the right side of the roadway near Interment Shelter 1. Please park as closely together as possible.
