About the Mission:
The family of Richard E. Delehanty has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Delehanty, 93, died at St. Peter’s Hospital on December 16, 2023.
Born in Albany, NY, Richard was a graduate of Vincentian Institute High School and a lifetime resident of the area. Mr. Delehanty was a US Army veteran. He entered the service on 4 April 1951, and served 1 year and 7 months overseas in Germany. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class on 1 April 1953, and for his service, was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal - Germany.
For the majority of his adult life, Mr. Delehanty worked for the United States Postal Service on New Karner Road. After retiring from the postal service, he worked part-time for the City of Albany’s Police Department.

Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the last hour of visitation, 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm. Funeral service scheduled for 1:00 pm, followed by escort to and interment at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, 1389 Central Ave., Albany, NY.
