About the Mission:

The family of PFC Jake M. DeLuca has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Jake, 19, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

Born on October 14, 2002, in Summit, NJ, Jake graduated from Saratoga Springs High School in 2021. Prior to moving to Saratoga Springs, NY, Jake grew up in Berkeley Heights, NJ where he had many friends and fond memories. Jake joined the US Marine Corps in 2021 and earned the rank of PFC. He was currently stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Jake loved sports and excelled in them in high school. He was on the varsity football team, #30, also known as the "Maniac." He was Co-Captain of the wrestling team and had a fantastic senior year record. Jake was awarded the most outstanding player award in both football and wrestling his senior year.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: NYS Guidelines of 2 March 2022, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Escort to follow to St. Clements Roman Catholic Church, 231 Lake Ave., Saratoga Springs, NY, 12866, for 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass.

Second Stage - Special Information:

Note that there is a new staging protocol for Saratoga National Cemetery.  PGR members will stage by parking ONLY on the right side of the roadway near Section 21.  If that area is full, the overflow parking area will be on the right side of the roadway near Interment Shelter 1.  Please park as closely together as possible.  As always, you are asked to stage quietly and respectfully.  Interment services for this mission will be conducted in Interment Shelter 1.    Please click here to view a map of the designated area
