About the Mission:

The family of Milton Edward Smith has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Milton, 88, died Sunday, March 31 at Fort Hudson Rehabilitation Center in Hudson Falls.

Milton was born in Granville, NY, where he was a 1953 graduate of Granville School.  He entered the US Army on on 26 May 1955 and served in Field Artillery Operations (MOS 146.20).  He served a total of 1 year and 9 months on active duty, including 1 year and 4 months stationed in South Korea.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Private (E-2) on 19 March 1957, and completed his inactive reserve duty obligation on 25 May 1963.

Milton owned & operated a dairy farm in Middle Granville for 25 years before working at several jobs. He retired from Encore Paper Company in 2000, and then delivered Sam's Good News of Rutland for 14 years.  He was an active member of the Adirondack Harley Owner's Group, American Legion & the VFW, as well as the American Legion Riders & the Patriot Guard Riders.
