About the Mission:

The family of US Navy Master Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Daniel Michael Clayton has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Master Chief Clayton, 73, passed away on October 23rd, 2023.

Born in Bennington, VT, Daniel joined the Navy on April 9, 1970. He served until being honorably discharged on May 31st, 1991 at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer (E-9). During his active duty time, he was awarded many decorations, including; Navy Achievement Ribbon w/ 1 Gold Star, Navy Meritorious Unit Ribbon, Navy "E" Ribbon w/ 2 "E"'s, Navy Good Conduct Medal w/ 4 Bronze Stars, National Defense Service Medal w/ 1 Bronze Star, Navy Sea Service Deployment Ribbon w/ 2 Bronze Stars, Navy Rifle Marksman w/ "E" and Navy Pistol Marksman w/ "E".

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am, followed by escort to Evergreen Cemetery, Arlington, VT 05250, for interment with military honors.  Click here for map to cemetery
