About the Mission:

The family of Mark D. Brockway, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Mark, 58, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Glens Falls Hospital with his family by his side.

Mark proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting on 23 February 1983.  He was trained as a Bradley Fighting Vehicle System Turret Mechanic and remarkably, even served with his father in Kentucky.   His service included a year and 6 months overseas, and he was honorably discharged on 10 February 1986 at the rank of Private First Class (E-3).  For his service, he was awarded the US Army Good Conduct Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Sharpshooter Badge M-16 Rifle and Sharpshooter Badge - Hand Grenade.

Mark was a musician who could play almost any instrument, including guitar, drums, bass, vocals, and was an accomplished trumpet player.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will stand a flag line for dignified transfer, and then escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 10:30 committal service.
