About the Mission:

The family of Gerald A. Moroskey has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Gerald, 73 of Latham, NY passed away suddenly at his home on July 6, 2023.

Born in Albany, Jerry was a 1968 graduate of Columbia High School in East Greenbush. He entered the US Army on 24 February 1970, and was trained as an Armor Recon Specialist (MOS 11D20). He completed 1 year and 7 months of active duty, including 1 year and 2 months on a tour of duty in Vietnam assigned to "B" Trp, 7/1st Air Cav. He was separated from active duty on 29 September 1971, and honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th Class after completing inactive reserve duty on 23 February 1976. For his service, Jerry was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and 2 Overseas Tour Bars.

He was later employed by Winthrop Laboratories, BASF and retired from RPI as a plumber. Jerry loved camping, taking long walks, riding his motorcycle, buying and restoring classic cars and attending car shows.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the last 30 minutes of the visitation period, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. A brief service will be conducted at 12:00 pm, followed by escort to St. John's Lutheran Cemetery, 303 Sand Creek Rd., Albany, NY, for interment with military honors.
