About the Mission:
The family of Edward Carl Hansen has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Edward, 87, a lifelong resident of Raymertown, died peacefully Saturday, March 23, 2024, at St. Peter’s Hospital following a short illness.
Born in the Town of Pittstown, after attending the Lincolnville School, Ed graduated from Lansingburgh High School, Class of 1956. He worked the family farm with his father until he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on February 11, 1957. Following basic training in Cherry Point, NC, he was stationed at the base as a heavy truck driver and specialized motor vehicle operator. Following two years of service, including two letters of commendation, he was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal.
Upon returning home and working as a mechanic for an area car dealership, Ed built his longtime Ford Road home overlooking the surrounding farmland and Tomhannock Reservoir, of which he was very proud.
