About the Mission:
The family of Dillard M. Parker, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Mr. Parker, 97 of Albany, NY, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2023 with his family by his side.
Born in High Point, North Carolina, Dillard graduated from High Point High School. He worked as a welder in the Philadelphia Navy Yard during WW II, and enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces on 30 January 1946. He was honorably discharged from the US Air Force at the rank of Private First Class on 31 January 1949, and joined the US Army on 1 February of that same year. He served a total of 3 years and 1 month on active duty, and was discharged at the rank of Private on 16 April 1952. For his service, he was awarded the US Army Good Conduct Medal.
After his military service, Dillard worked various jobs with NY Penn/Conrail Railroad, which is now named Amtrak.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the last hour of Visitation, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm. A funeral service will take place at 12:00, followed by escort to Graceland Cemetery, 680 Delaware Ave, Albany, NY 12209, for interment with military honors.
