About the Mission:

The family of Charles J. DeYoung, Jr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Charles, 84, passed on Sunday, September 29, 2024.

Born September 24, 1940, in Montclair, NJ, Charles was raised in Little Falls, NJ. He graduated from Passaic Valley High School in 1958, and enlisted in the US Air Force 10 February 1959.  He was trained as a Construction Equipment Repairman (AFSC 47150) and served on active duty for 3 years and 7 months.  His time included a 3 year assignment to the 7513th Material Squadron, Mildenhall, England.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Airman 2nd Class on 4 October 1962, and for his service, was awarded the US Air Force Good Conduct Medal.

Following his military service, Chuck worked as a lineman, splicer, and conduit inspector for Bell Atlantic, which he fondly referred to as “Ma Bell.” He retired in 1995.

Special Information:

We will stage with a flag line upon arrival, during the end of calling hours. There will be a dignified transfer followed by an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2:30 p.m. service.
