About the Mission:

The family of Barry W. Cronkhite has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.  Barry, 80, of Glens Falls, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.

Born on November 28, 1943 in Fort Edward, New York, Barry enlisted in the Army after graduating from high school.  He proudly served for 21 years, including 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, retiring in 1983 at the rank of Sergeant First Class (E-7).  For his service, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal - 7th award, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/5 Bronze Service Stars, Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon - 2nd award, Vietnam Training Service Medal - Second Class, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device and 3 Overseas Service Bars.

After his service, Barry worked for Evergreen Bank and the New York State Department of Higher Education. Barry was a proud member of both the VFW and American Legion and served as the VFW Quartermaster for Post No. 6196 for 14 years.

PGR members will stand a flag line until the prayer service begins.  We will then stand for the dignified transfer followed by escort to Pine View Cemetery.
