About the Mission:

The staff of the Howard B. Tate Funeral Home has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in the military honors funeral services of Mr. William Ronald "Bill" Holstein. Bill, 90, passed on 10 November 2022.

Bill has no family to attend his services, so Patriot Guard Riders will stand for him in that role. Unfortunately, not much is known about his life, but Bill was born in Troy, NY on 1 December 1932. He entered the US Army at the age of 19 on 23 May 1952 and spent 16 months assigned to 1014th, Company B, 194th Engineer Combat Battalion in South Korea. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal, and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal w/2 Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.

There is no obituary available at this time. Please join me in standing for this hero of "The Forgotten War".

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Members will form a flag line for the dignified transfer, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with military honors. We may be asked to provide Pall Bearers. Anticipated KSU is 1:00 pm.
