About the Mission:

Patriot Flight organizers have once again requested the participation of Patriot Guard Riders in the escort, sendoff and welcome home for veterans traveling to Washington DC as part of the Honor Flight Network. As we have done in the past with Patriot Flight, PGR riders will escort the veterans from the staging point shown below to Albany International Airport, where the sendoff will take place. We have also been asked to welcome our honored veterans back home that evening. Please see details in Stage Two of this mission posting below.

The escort is open to any and all individual motorcyclist and motorcycle clubs and organizations however, due to ongoing construction in the terminal access areas, parking is virtually non-existent. Please see the important details in the staging instructions below.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Staging in the rear parking lot. Anticipated KSU of 05:30.

NOTE: Parking at the airport is virtually non-existent. We have managed to secure space for a maximum of 20 motorcycles in the roadway near the new terminal entrance. This space will be used for the first 20 motorcycles in the escort. All others are asked to split from the escort upon arrival, pass-through and exit the airport area.

ALSO NOTE: There is no sendoff ceremony inside the airport. Our heroes will enter the terminal where indicated on the above map, pass through the ticketing area to the escalators and proceed upstairs through the TSA checkpoint. Organizers have requested PGR members to form a flag line in the ticketing area.

Second Stage - Special Information:

Estimated arrival time 08:15 pm. Members will form a flag line near the TSA checkpoint for the return of our heroes. There will be no escort back to the Times Union.
