HOTH Mission
6th Annual Honoring Our Vets Car Show
All Military Branches
Multi-City, NY - 08/04/2024
Mission applies to the following Region(s):
Region 4, Region 5
About the Mission:
Members of Patriot Guard Riders have once again been invited to participate in the annual Honoring Our Vets Car Show. 2024 marks the 6th year for this event, with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Stratton VAMC, Center for Development & Civic Engagement (CDCE). Monies are used to purchase basic needs for our less fortunate veterans treated at the Stratton, and include such items as socks, boots, thermal underwear, coats, food items, department/food store gift cards, etc., all of which are very necessary. Donations of these (new) types of items will be accepted for donation to the VA at the show.
The Honoring Our Vets Car show is unique in that each year, 4 special "Soldier Trophies" are awarded to entries selected in the category of "Veterans Picks". Each of these special trophies are awarded in honor of a local soldier who died in action during WW II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Global War on Terrorism.
This year's honorees are: WW II - US Army Air Corps Lt. William Cahill Mackey, KIA 2 November 1943; Korean War - US Army MSgt. Bruno D. Bevevino, died while POW, 24 March 1951; Vietnam War - US Marine Corps Cpl. Thomas E. Falk, KIA, 22 February 1968 and; Global War on Terrorism - Army National Guard PFC Nathan P. Brown, KIA, 11 April 2004.
As in years past, there are two parts to this mission; first, riders will escort veterans with their classic show cars to the venue and then later, stand a flag line during military-themed ceremonies. See details below.
