About the Mission:
The family of Willis S. Ash IV has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Willis, 65, of Troy, passed on Monday, January 6, 2025.
Born in Troy, New York, Willis was a graduate of Troy High School, Class of 1979. He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps following graduation and proudly served on active duty until 1983. He received the Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Unit Citation, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Marksmanship Badge-Rifle, and his Honorable Discharge in 1985 after two years of reserve service. Willis was very proud and honored to have served on the Presidential Honor Guard in Washington, DC at the end of the term for President Jimmy Carter as well as for the beginning of the term of President Ronald Reagan.
Willis had been employed at Wolberg Lighting Design and Electrical Supply in Albany.

Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am, followed by an escort to Oakwood Cemetery, 186 Oakwood Ave., Troy, for interment with military honors. Please dress for the weather.
