About the Mission:
The family of William H. Haupt, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. William, 83, died Monday, June 5, 2023 at his home.
Born in Albany, William was raised and educated in Colonie and was a member of the first graduating class of Colonie Central High School. At the age of 17, he enlisted in the US Marine Corps and served in Washington, DC under President Dwight Eisenhower from 1957-1961.
Bill was employed by the Ford Motor Co. in Green Island for 14 years until its closing. He then was self-employed as a “Man with a Pickup” advertising in the Troy Record as someone who would do about anything with his truck. He later started his own family business, Bill Haupt Dumpsters in the 1990’s, which is currently operated by his son Wayne and family. He was a former member of the Troy Lodge of Elks and the Wynantskill American Legion.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am, followed by escort to and interment at New Rural Cemetery, 330 3rd Ave Ext, Rensselaer, NY 12144.
