About the Mission:

The family of William H. Bunker has requested the participation of Patriot Guard Riders in his military honors funeral services.  William, 92, of The Cabana’s at Jensen Dunes in Jensen Beach, FL passed on Saturday July 23, 2022.

Born in Queens, William entered the US Army on 20 September 1951.  He was assigned to the 204th Field Artillery Battalion in South Korea,and spent 14 months overseas.  He was honorably discharged on 9 June 1953 at the rank of Corporal (T), and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal w.3 Bronze Service Stars and the United Nations Service Medal.

William was a graduate of Pratt Institute and lived in Queens until 2015 when he moved to Rexford. He had been a Display Production Graphic Manager for JC Penney in Manhattan for over 35 years and was a dedicated Mets fan which lead to his move to Florida in 2019 to be near Mets Spring Training. He was recently honored at a St. Lucie Mets charity event where he lead the 5th inning stretch in singing “Take me out to the Ballgame”.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer.  Escort to Saratoga National cemetery to follow.

Special Information:

Note that there is a new staging protocol for Saratoga National Cemetery.  PGR members will stage by parking ONLY on the right side of the roadway near Section 21.  If that area is full, the overflow parking area will be on the right side of the roadway near Interment Shelter 1.  Please park as closely together as possible.  As always, you are asked to stage quietly and respectfully.  Interment services for this mission will be conducted in Interment Shelter 1.    Please click here to view a map of the designated area
