About the Mission: | The family of Walter J. Wolfe has requested Patriot Guard Rider participation in his military honors funeral services. Walter, 95, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022 at his home. Born in Jefferson, NY Walter was a 1945 graduate of Jefferson High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army Air Forces on 13 July 1945. He was trained as an Installer & Repairman, Telephone and Telegraph (MOS 097), assigned to the 16th Communications Squadron. He was promoted to the rank of Sergeant in November of 1946, and was honorably discharged on 13 July 1947. For his service, he was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal, World War II Victory Medal and Lapel Button. After his service, Walter went on to further his education from Rider College in Lawrence, NJ, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in accounting. Following his education, he had worked for Steiner and Son’s Law Firm for 5 years prior to starting his own business, Walter J. Wolfe Public Accounting. Walter was a dedicated accountant, he never truly retired. He enjoyed classic cars and golfing. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters. |
Special Information: | Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am, followed by escort to Brown Cemetery, Tripoli Rd., W. Fort Ann, NY. (Use 1422 Tripoli Road, Fort Ann for GPS reference.) Escort will be at highway speeds on I-87. Only firmly attached flags are to be used. Brown Cemetery is very rural with no pathways. Parking will be on the shoulder, along the roadway. Please make sure you have a kickstand pad. |
