About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been invited to attend the military honors funeral services of Vilko Friedrich Green. Vilko, 78, passed away peacefully at home on January 2, 2024.

Born in Wolfratzhusasen, Bavaria, Germany, Vilko enlisted in the US Navy on 7 November 1967. He served 13 months at sea during the Vietnam War, including time aboard the USS Boston (CA-69), a Baltimore-class heavy cruiser. He was honorably discharged on 6 December 1968 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, with a rating of Seaman (E-3). For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Star and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.

Vilko was an accomplished wrestler on the Guilderland High School team, and later spent four decades working as a chiropractor in Albany.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the dignified transfer. Estimated departure time is 11:45 - 12:00 pm.
