About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Thomas R. Minnick to participate in his military honors funeral services. Thomas, age 76, passed away peacefully on June 4, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Rockville Centre, NY, Thomas graduated from Archbishop Molloy High School in NYC, and attended Niagara University, earning a bachelor’s degree in English. He enlisted in the U.S. Army on 17 January 1969 and served 1 and 8 months with the 8th Maintenance Batallion, US Army Combat Equipment Group in Germany as a Tank Unit Commander (MOS 1203).  He was honorably discharged after his reserve duty obligation in 1974, and joined the NY Army National Guard.  He served until 1978 when he was honorably discharged at the rank of Captain.  For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

While working full-time and raising his family, he earned his MBA from Russell Sage College. He spent a majority of his career working in the field of human resources, and most recently retired as the director, Center for Human Resources for the Business Council of NY.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

We will stage flag line for arrival of family and friends. At the conclusion of services, there will be a dignified transfer followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 10:00 am service.
