About the Mission:

The family of Thomas Robert Hebert has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Thomas passed peacefully from this life on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at the age of 77.

Born in Troy, Tom was raised and educated in Watervliet and was a member of the graduating class of 1964 of Watervliet High School. He furthered his education at Hudson Valley Community College earning a degree in business. In 1967, Tom enlisted in the United States Army and served our nation in Korea during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1970 and served in the Army Reserve until 1973.

Tom was employed for more than 25 years as a computer programmer for the New York State Higher Education Department in Albany and later worked as a computer specialist and dispatcher for the Green Island Police Department.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

Please stage quietly with a flag line just prior to end of visitation hours at 12:30 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 12:30, followed by an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2:30 pm interment with military honors.
