About the Mission:

Patriot Giard Riders has been requested by the family of Thomas M. "Mike" Conley to participate in his military honors funeral services.  Mike, 72, passed peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2023, at his home.

Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Mike proudly served his country in the United States Navy, enlisting during the Vietnam War, on 10 February 1970.  He received schooling as a nuclear-trained interior communications electrician, First Class, aboard a nuclear-powered fleet ballistic missile submarine, the USS Kamehameha.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 1st Class (E-6), on 19 January 1976, and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.

After his military service, Mike worked for General Electric for 30 years as a Class A Instrument Mechanic, served as emeritus on the Capital Communications Credit Union for 5 years, was a member of the Wilton Volunteer Fire Department, and upon his retirement began his 15-year career with Schuylerville Schools as a bus driver.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will stage flag line for dignified transfer and then at 12:30, escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1:30 service.
