About the Mission:
The family of Thomas J. Keller has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Thomas, 79, passed away after a short illness at Saratoga Hospital.
Tom, also fondly known as “TK,” was born April 4, 1944, in Palo Alto, California. He grew up in Bethpage, Long Island and was a graduate of Binghamton University. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army, and was trained as a Radio System Officer. He completed 2 years and 7 months active duty, including a one year tour of duty stationed at Da Nang Airbase, in Vietnam between 1968 and 1969. He was honorably discharged at the rank of 1st Lieutenant, and for his service, was awarded the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.
Following his military service, Tom began his 35-year career with State Farm Insurance. Tom was a licensed ham radio operator and possessed his pilot's license.
