About the Mission:
The family of Thomas Henry Glasser has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Thomas, 95, died peacefully in Saratoga Hospital on Saturday, January 21, 2023.
Born in Hicksville, New York, Thomas grew up in Brooklyn and attended St. Martin’s Elementary School, Regis High School, and Cooper Union, where he received a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Degree in 1951.
Tom entered the US Army on 30 July 1945. He was trained as a Personnel Non-Commissioned Officer (MOS 502) and was assigned to Headquarters Company, 796 MP Battalion, where he served 11 months with the United States Forces in Austria. He was honorably discharged on 16 January 1947 at the rank of Staff Sergeant, and for his service, was awarded the Army of Occupation Medal, WWII Victory Medal and WWII Lapel Button.
He later worked for General Electric (GE) in various engineering assignments from 1951 – 1989, with 35 years at the Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory in Niskayuna, New York. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the GE Quarter Century Club. He was a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
Staging at the church with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests during the one hour visitation, 10:00 - 11:00 am. A Funeral Mass is scheduled for 11:00 am, followed by escort and entombment with military honors at Most Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 2501 Troy Schenectady Road, Schenectady, New York.
