About the Mission:
The family of Thomas Aloysius Gannon III has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Thomas, 75, passed away peacefully December 12, 2024, at Shaker Place.
Born in Albany, Tom was a graduate of Albany High School. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Army on 29 April 1968, where he was trained as a Fire Systems Crewman (MOS 16K20). He served on active duty for 3 years, including a 14 month tour of duty in an Air Defense Unit in Pirmansens, Germany. Tom was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4) on 28 April 1971 and for his service was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Marksman Badge (M-16) and Sharpshooter Badge (M-14).
After the service, Tom pursued a fulfilling career as a Fire Dispatcher for the city of Albany (Dispatcher 12) where his dedication and skill earned him the respect of peers and colleagues alike. He received an award from the chief for never missing a day of work in his 32 years of service.

Special Information:
Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am, followed by a dignified transfer and escort to Saratoga National Cemetery.
