About the Mission:

The family of Steven G. Seymour has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Steven, 53, passed unexpectedly on July 4, 2003.

Born in Troy, NY, Steven was a graduate of Hoosic Valley Central High School, class of 1967 and attended both Hudson Valley Community College and Albany Business College, where he earned a degree in computer programming. He enlisted in the US Air Force on 25 August 1969, and was trained as an Avionics Navigation System Specialist (AFSC 32851). He served on active duty until his honorable discharge on 30 June 1973, including a one year tour of duty in Vietnam. He earned the rank of Sergeant (E-4) and for his service, was awarded the USAF Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Republic of Vietnam Campaign medal.

For the past 15 years, Steven had been employed by Ikon Office Solutions in Center Brunswick as a field service manager. He was a member of the United Presbyterian Church in Schaghticoke and a former member of the Victor Fellowcraft Bowling League. He was an avid stock car and NASCAR Winston Cup fan, and at one time assisted as a pit-crew member on his brother-in-law's race team.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Updated 8 March 2022

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

We will stage at the Stillwater Bridge Road entrance to the Schagticoke Fairgrounds and meet with the family and Funeral Director. We will stand for the dignified transfer of the cremains of both veterans from the family vehicle to the funeral home vehicle, and take the lead for the escort to Saratoga National Cemetery.

Interment with military honors scheduled for 12:00 pm. Please stage quietly and in accordance with current guidelines.

Members are asked to remain for the services of the second family member, Michael P. Dowling, immediately following at 12:30 pm.
