About the Mission:
The family of Stephen Jerome Walsh has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Stephen passed away on November 16th, 2024 at the age of 60.
Born on October 23, 1964, Stephen proudly served his country as a Flight Engineer and Pilot with the NY Air National Guard’s 105th Airlift Wing out of Newburgh, NY, from 1992 to 2001. He flew the iconic C-5 Galaxy and participated in both wartime and peacetime missions, exemplifying skill and dedication.
Aviation was a lifelong passion for Stephen, who later flew corporate jets for Flight Options and Richmond Aviation and shared his expertise as a certified flight instructor. In addition to his aviation career, Stephen wore many hats, including working as a DJ for a local radio station and as a captain for Hudson River Cruises. Stephen was deeply committed to his community, serving as a member of the Claverack Fire Department, where he worked in Fire Police. Since 2022, he had devoted himself to helping others as an EMT with the Copake Rescue Squad, a role that reflected his selflessness and compassion.
