About the Mission:
The family of Shawn A.M. Clemons has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Shawn, 40, of Palatine Bridge, NY, passed away unexpectedly on January 20, 2025, at Albany Medical Center.
Shawn was born on December 6, 1984, in Little Falls, NY. He served 12 1/2 years in the US Marine Corps, with 3 years and 2 months overseas, including 2 tours of duty in Afghanistan and 1 in Japan. His primary specialties were Aviation Supply Specialist and Marine Combat Instructor. He was honorably discharged on 3 April 2020 at the rank of Staff Sergeant, and for his service, was awarded; Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation - Navy, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal (3 awards), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/1 Star, Global War On Terrorism Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (3 awards), Marine Corps Combat Instructor Ribbon w/"M" Device, NATO Medal - ISAF Afghanistan, Certificate of Commendation (2 awards), Certificate of Appreciation, Letter of Appreciation, Meritorious Mast (4 awards), Expert Rifle Qualifications Badge (6 awards) and Expert Pistol Qualification Badge (4 awards).
Since returning to NY, Shawn was a coach for the Fort Plain Little League and had served as President and Vice President of the organization; he also enjoyed playing softball in many different leagues, including the Tri-Valley Softball League. He was most recently employed by A and K Slipform of Cobleskill, NY as a mason.
