About the Mission:
The family of Rudolph E. "Rudy" Wilhelm has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Rudolph died peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 13, 2024, following a short illness.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Rudolph moved to the Bronx at the age of nine and graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School. He entered the US Navy on 22 March 1956, and served 1 year and 7 months on active duty, including 1 year and 3 months aboard the USS Intrepid (CVA-11), an Essex-class aircraft carrier. He was honorably discharged on 28 October 1957 at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, and a rating of Electricians Mate 3.
After his military service, Rudolph was employed by New York Telephone and AT&T before retiring in 1985.
