About the Mission:
Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Ronald R. Butler to participate in his military honors funeral services. Ronald, 77, passed away Monday, March 20, 2023 after a long, hard fought battle.
Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Ron grew up in Syracuse, NY where he graduated from Blodgette Vocational High School in 1964. After high school, Ron worked for Rollway Bearing, and entered the US Army on 12 June 1967. He trained as an Infantryman (MOS 11B20), and spent 14 months in Vietnam assigned to Company "B", 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry. He was released from active duty on 11 January 1969, and honorably discharged from the reserves at the rank of Specialist 4th Class on 11 June 1973. For his service, he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device.
In the late 70’s, Ron moved to upstate NY where he began his career as a New York State Corrections Officer. He served at Great Meadow, and later Mt. McGregor correctional facilities and retired after 30 years.

Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
We will stand a flag line for arrival of family and friends and will stand until 6:00 pm. Interment will take place in the Spring.
