About the Mission:

The family of Ronald P. Care has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Ronald, 66, passed away suddenly on December 17, 2023.

Born in Troy, NY, Ronald was a 1975 graduate of Watervliet High School. He went on to proudly defend his country in the United States Navy from 1980 to 1983, including time aboard the USS California (CGN-36), a California-class nuclear-powered guided missile cruiser. He achieved the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class (E-4), and for his service, was awarded the Navy Battle Efficiency "E" Award, Navy Expeditionary Medal and Sea Service Ribbon.

Ron worked many years for the Xerox Company in Menands. He enjoyed going to Lake George, the Saratoga Racetrack and driving his Mustang.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. There will be an 11:00 am funeral service, including military honors.

The escort and cemetery portion of this mission has been cancelled.
