About the Mission:

The family of Robert M. Jones, Sr. has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Robert, 90, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024 at home.

After graduating from Columbia High School, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy on July 7, 1954. He served a total of 5 years and two months on active duty, including time aboard the USS Taconic, an Adirondack class amphibious force command ship. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class, and for his service, was awarded the National Defense Service Medal.

Bob later worked as a Machinist for Winthrop Labs/Sterling Drug until his retirement in 1995, and was a proud member of the Holy Spirit Church.
