About the Mission:

The family of Robert K. "BOSCO" Benson has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services.  Robert, age 78, died on February 15, 2025, at his home.

Born in Albany, New York, Bob attended South High School, in Valley Stream, Long Island and began working in construction when he was still in school. He enlisted in the United States Army on 23 September 1964 and was trained as a Cook (MOS 94B20).  He served one year on active duty, including a six month tour of duty at the Patch Barracks, Stuttgart-Vaihingen, Germany.  He was honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class (E-3) on 23 September 1965, and for his service was awarded a National Defense Service Medal and Sharpshooter Badge (M-14).

After his military service, Bob worked with various companies, working in maintenance and construction capacities until his retirement in 2023. Most recently, Bob worked at Market 32 in Clifton Park as a butcher.

Members will stand a flag line for the arrival of family and friends. This is a rather long mission, so please stand for whatever time you are able, taking breaks as necessary. Military honors will be performed at the funeral home after the service, after which the PGR plaque will be presented.
