About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Robert D Shaw to participate in his military honors funeral services. Robert, 80, passed on 8 April 2023.

Robert entered the US Army on 12 April 1967 in Rutland, Vermont. He served 2 years active duty as a Light Weapons Infantryman (MOS 11B20), including a one year tour of duty in Vietnam where he was wounded.  Upon completion of his reserve service, Robert was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th class.  For his service he was awarded a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and Combat Infantryman's Badge.

Robert worked in Construction for union local 157 from Milton, NY.  He later retired and moved to Florida, where he loved to fishing, hunting and camping out.
