About the Mission:
The family of Richard William Hennessy has requested Patriot Guard Riders' participation in his military honors funeral services. Richard, 80, of East Greenbush passed on Wednesday, February 5th, 2025 at home.
Born in Albany, NY, Richard enlisted in the US Army on 13 July 1962, and was trained as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic (MOS 631.10). He served 2 years, 11 and a half months on active duty, including 2 years and almost 7 months overseas assigned to the 651st Medical Company, 7th Brigade, in Ludwizburg, Germany. He was honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th Class (E-4) and for his service, was awarded a Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Sharpshooter Badge - Rifle (M-1), a Driver and Mechanic Badge.
After his service, Richard became a sheet metal worker for Amtrak where he worked for years. His interests included hunting and gardening. Richard was a friend of PGRNY R4 Ride Captain John Mercier.
