About the Mission:

The family of Richard B. Cross has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Richard, 79, passed away on August 2, 2024, after a short illness.

Raised in Guilderland, NY, Richard enlisted in the US Navy during the Vietnam War on 28 July 1966.  He was trained as an Equipment Operator, Truck and attained a rating of Equipment Operator 3 with a rank of Petty Officer 3rd Class.  He served until his honorable discharge on 26 July 1968, including service in Vietnam.  For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal.

After his military service, Richard was a member of the Ironworkers Local 12 Union, in Albany, N.Y.

Special Information:

We will meet the family at the firehouse and will conduct a dignified transfer of the honorees cremains to my motorcycle.  We will then escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for an 11am committal service.
