About the Mission:
The family of Raymond F. Hensler II has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services.
Ray graduated from Mephan High School in 1958. He was inducted into the Army on 14 December 1961, and trained as an Electrician (MOS 355.20). Of his 1 year and 11 months of active duty, he spent 1 year and 3 months assigned to the 56 Engineer Company at Fort Richardson, Alaska. he was released from active duty on December 1963, and honorably discharged at the rank of Specialist 4th class upon completion of his inactive reserve obligation on 13 December 1967.
After the military, Ray worked with his family in the electrical business, and later worked for the telephone company for 30 years. He was a member of the Jaycees in Warrensburg, a member of the American Legion, and was past Commander and Chaplain. He was very involved with the Boys Scouts of America, and was Scout Master, Assistant Scout Master, Committee chair member, Order of the Arrow, and was on the District training team for many years. He received many awards. He is also a member of the Church of the Holy Cross and was one of the past vestry members.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
We will stage for the arrival of the honoree, and stand flag line for dignified transfer, and then stand until church service. Take a break until service is over, then we will escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 12 pm service.
