About the Mission:
The family of Ralph S. Hume has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Ralph, 66, of Nelliston, passed away on July 24, 2023, with his loving family by his side.
Born Amsterdam, NY, Ralph entered the US Marine Corps during September of 1973. He served as a Mortarman (MOS0341) during the Vietnam War Era. He was released from active duty during January of 1978, and honorably discharged at the rank of Private First Class (E-2), upon completion of his inactive reserve duty during January of 1980. For his service, he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Rifle Badge - Marksman, and Pistol Badge.
Ralph later worked for the Schenectady Gazette for 20 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working on vehicles, spending time with his kids and grandkids, along with riding his motorcycle.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.
Special Information:
We will arrive during calling hours, so please be as quiet as possible, standing a flag line upon arrival. There will be a service at 11:30am, then we will prepare for dignified transfer, followed by escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 2:00 pm service.
