About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Nataleno J. "Ned" Reo to participate in his military honors funeral services. Ned passed on July 18, 2023 at the age of 92. 

Ned graduated from Waterford High School in 1948, and entered active duty in the US Marine Corps on 19 October 1950. He saw combat in South Korea and received two Purple Heart Medals for wounds received while fighting the enemy forces there.  His obituary reads, in part "Ned fought in the Korean War from November 1950 to April 1952, participating in the Battle of Hill 902 and the Chinese Offensive in The Frozen Chosen, where his division of 60 soldiers held back thousands of Chinese fighters."  Ned was honorably discharged on 4 April 1952 at the rank of Private First Class (E-4), and for his service, was awarded; the Purple Heart Medal w/ Star (two awards), Combat Action Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Korea Service Medal, Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon, Republic of Korea War Service Medal and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation.

After his military service, he began work for General Electrical Silicone, where he worked for 38 years in research and development, quality control, and customer field service.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Members will stage with a flag line for the arrival of family until 10 am, then stand down for the church service. After the service, we will re-form a flag line for the dignified transfer, then provide an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for an 11:30 service.
