About the Mission:

The family of Michael Lansing Bruce has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Michael, 75, passed away peaceful at home on December 30, 2023.

Born in Albany, NY, Michael joined the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, on 17 November 1966 and was trained as a Combat Engineer (Specialty Number 1371). He completed almost three years of active duty, including an 18 month tour of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged on 14 November 1969 at the rank of Corporal (E-4), and was released from the inactive reserves on 16 November 1972. For his service, Michael was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal w/4 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal w/60 Device and a Certificate of Appreciation.

After his military service, Michael worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 40 years.

Special Covid-19 Mission Guidelines:

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.


Special Information:

Staging at the funeral home with a flag line for the arrival of family and guests. A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am, followed by a dignified transfer and escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for interment with military honors.
