About the Mission:
The family of Michael E. "Mike" Lonergan has requested Patriot Guard Riders participation in his military honors funeral services. Mike, age 73, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at home.
Born on July 3, 1951, in Brooklyn, NY, Mike enlisted into the US Air Force and served two years as a Physical Therapist Technician (AFSC 91350) during the Vietnam Era. He was honorably discharged on 22 December 1972 at the rank of Airman 1st Class, and went on to serve his country in the Army National Guard until 1993.
Later in life, Mike returned to school to earn his Associate’s Degree from Adirondack Community College, in 1998. For many years, he enjoyed a fulfilling career as an Education Specialist with MEPS in Albany, NY.
