About the Mission:

Patriot Guard Riders has been requested by the family of Michael Irwin to participate in his military honors funeral services.  Michael, 74, passed peacefully away at home on Thursday, March 23, 2023 

Mike graduated in 1966 from Hartford Central School, and entered the US Navy on 27 March 1969.  He served 3 years and 3 months at sea as a Boiler Technician, including time aboard the USS Jonas Ingram (DD-938), a Forrest Sherman-class destroyer.  He was released from active duty on 26 January 1973, and honorably discharged as the rating of Boiler Technician 2 (BT2), Petty Officer 2nd Class on 26 March 1975.

After his service, Mike worked 44 years for General Electric in both Hudson Falls and Fort Edward plants.  He was involved in many organizations that promoted outdoor family activities including garden tractor pulling, archery, golf, showing horses, snowmobiling, and four wheeling.

Based on the most current COVID-19 Prevention Guidelines: Protect Yourself and Your Family from COVID-19, and CDC Guidelines of 3 March 2022, going forward, the Lead Ride Captain for any mission will be responsible for determining whether PGR members will have to mask up or not. Please ensure that you have a mask with you, should the need arise, and respect the LRC’s decision in these matters.

Special Information:

We will stage for a dignified transfer and then provide an escort to Saratoga National Cemetery for a 1pm service.
